Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American entrepreneur for over twenty years. Buss is the sole owner of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association and currently serves as its president. Buss is a native of California and grew up as an heir to a prestigious family. Jerry Buss was her father. Jerry Buss started out as a realty business tycoon and then later owned the Lakers. When her parents broke up in 1972, she was convinced that they'd abandoned her. At 19 years old, she began working for the family's business as general manager of the Los Angeles Strings professional tennis team. She later set up her own Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. In the beginning, she was vice president of Lakers prior to taking over the position of president of Great Western Forum. Buss was the inheritor of the Lakers from her father in the year 2013. Five siblings of hers inherited it through a family estate trust. She assumed her duties as the president of Los Angeles Lakers. Buss was also a partner in the ownership of Women of Wrestling (a Los Angeles-based pro-wrestling association).
