Singer-songwriter John Denver touched millions of people and reached superstar status by his folk-inspired pop hits many of them based in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He fell in love Colorado and moved to Aspen. Denver's songs that he sang about his adopted state encouraged many to move to Colorado. I don't think there's any more famous performer that embodies Colorado like John Denver said G. Brown director of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. Denver was the first Hall of fame ever to be a member. Denver has become the image of Colorado for a lot of people across the globe. On my trips I've had the pleasure of meeting people from New Zealand or the other side. If you inform them you're from Colorado the first words they'll say is"Oh John Denver. Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief career in a folk group, was Denver's debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff had originally written the tune by putting Johnny Cash's song in his head, however Denver was aware from the very first time he heard the early versions that the song was going to be an instant success. After performing the song during a concert in Washington D.C. to a large audience, Denver did a song recording just a few days afterward.
